What is it?

Rhodotorula is a group of pink-colored yeast commonly found in the environment. Humans can acquire this species through either air or food transmission. Rhodotorula may be members of a healthy gut microbiome; however, an overgrowth in the gut can indicate a disturbance of the normal gut community and increase the risk of infection [1] [2]. There may be a link between the Rhodotorula species in the gut and persistent eczema (atopic dermatitis) in infants [3]. (Adapted from Tiny Health)

We consider a low or absent level of Rhodotorula optimum.
