How the NiaHealth Connector Handles Your Data

What data may be shared

When you use the connector, the following categories of information from your NiaHealth account may be shared with ChatGPT or Claude in response to your questions:

  • Lab results and biomarker history
  • Health scores and area-level summaries
  • Personalized recommendations and action items
  • Nutrition and exercise guidance, including training zones
  • Wearable and device data connected to your NiaHealth account
  • Care-team notes or messages associated with your account
  • Profile information necessary to provide the above (such as age, biological sex, and relevant health context)

Only information needed to answer your question is shared at any given time, but you should assume that any of the categories above could be shared during normal use of the connector.

What happens to your data after it is shared

Once information leaves NiaHealth and is received by ChatGPT or Claude, it is no longer governed by NiaHealth's privacy policy or security controls. It becomes subject to:

  • The third-party platform's terms of service and privacy policy
  • That platform's data-retention and deletion practices
  • The account type and plan you use (for example, free, paid, team, or enterprise)
  • The privacy and data-control settings you have configured on that platform

Depending on your account type and settings on ChatGPT or Claude, your conversations and the health information you share through the connector may be used by those platforms to train or improve their AI models. Each platform offers settings that let you control or limit this; you are responsible for reviewing and configuring those settings according to your preferences. We recommend reviewing OpenAI's and Anthropic's current privacy documentation before connecting.

NiaHealth does not control, monitor, or have visibility into how ChatGPT or Claude process, store, use, share, retain, or delete information after it has been shared through your authorized use of the connector.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect the connector at any time from your NiaHealth account settings. Disconnecting:

  • Will stop ChatGPT or Claude from accessing any further information from your NiaHealth account
  • May not delete information that has already been shared with or stored by those platforms

To request deletion of information already shared, you will need to use the deletion or data-control tools provided by ChatGPT or Claude directly. NiaHealth cannot delete data on your behalf from third-party platforms.
