Klebsiella oxytoca is often found in the gut at low levels where it doesn't usually cause a problem [1]. However, it is a common cause of hospital-acquired infections, particularly after treatment with antibiotics to which K. oxytoca is commonly resistant [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]. We consider low to undetectable levels of Klebsiella oxytoca to be optimal. The best way to combat Klebsiella oxytoca is to encourage the growth of beneficial bacteria that will outcompete them for resources. (Adapted from Tiny Health)
